"Media Award" 2009

The awards ceremony was held on 25 November 2009 in Bern. The "Media Award by the Swiss Academies"” is awarded annually in the four areas Medicine, Natural Sciences as well as Human and Social Sciences, and to the amount of CHF 10'000 CHF per discipline. The following individuals were honoured for having successfully transmitted scientific results to a wider public: Steven Artels and Jean-Daniel Bohn (Natural Sciences), Mathias Plüss (Natural Sciences), Katharina Bochsler (Human and Social Sciences) and the team from the series 36.9° from TSR (Medicine).
Dr Lyndon Evans, the Head of CERN's LHC project (particle accelerators), gave the input talk.
